Here's a quick rundown of what's been added.Īdd-on Support: Add-ons can now be downloaded and played from the main menu. With the update also bringing a suite of visual and technical improvements, including 60FPS support, the original 4:3 aspect ratio, and more. Well, that has changed with the classic DOOMs on PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch now supporting Add-Ons - including Final DOOM and the recently released expansion John Romero's SIGIL. It even has Remote Play Together.DOOM and DOOM II recently got a re-release on consoles in a somewhat bare-bones remaster that was a step behind the PC versions currently available to play.

Shared/Split Screen Co-op and Shared/Split Screen PvP, both sound to me like the game comes with support. This seems to conflict with the flags on the store page. You will not find split screen support by default when buying this. Originally posted by CabbyMouse:This and the other Doom games on Steam are their original MS-DOS versions running through DOSBOX. Biggest disappointment is that none of these let you play LAN/online would have been really cool to play with a group of local friends online or use multiple PC's for a Halo style splitscreen LAN party. It is very disappointing that PC doesn't have as solid split screen support as the console ports do. There are others, but these two were the main ones that were easy to setup and offered what I was looking for. That might not be a major issue for you, idk. The reason I don't personally use this one is because the way it is setup, death match items show up during co op gameplay. There is also this fork of the Eternity Engine [that has 4 player co op and death match. This fork of ZDoom offers 2 player co op, which is what I personally use. However, there are a few Doom source ports that offer split screen functionality, as well as general quality of life improvements for modern PC's. This and the other Doom games on Steam are their original MS-DOS versions running through DOSBOX.
